From Urubamba we go a few miles ahead, to a small village near a river and a railway. We start at km 88 of the Inca Trail.  Our new guide, Freddy, makes some pictures of us. n this way, he looks like a local gangster who wants to sell some cameras...

On the Inca Trail most people hireporters . They ship all luggage and preserve meals. At first sight, this seems to be a kind of kolonialism. On the other hand, it is a good opportunity for the local people to earn some money from all those tourists in periods they can't work on their land. A lot of people really are more wealthy thanks to this business!

Patricia said the porters would be running - well, they're walking quite fast. And they really are carrying a lot of luggage.

On this first part of the Inca Trail, we're walking all together. There are a few mountains ans a lot of trees. This part of the trail isn't very heavy.

We see many local people walking with their cows, sheeps and lamas.

Freddy is cool. Running along our group, busy managing everything. He sais we're the fastest group he has ever seen.

We reach our first campsite much earlyer than we expect. Right after a bridge over a small river, we see our tents. a very nice place to stay. The view is beautiful!

After our arrival, our porters preserve a delicious dinner. They're real heroes!
